Community Artwork with Sheoak Grove Primary School
The Pump Park at One71 Baldivis is looking a little more colourful thanks to the helping hands of pre-primary and year 1 students from neighbouring Sheoak Grove Primary School. In the first collaboration with the recently opened school, more than 40 students joined Mirvac for a morning of handprints and painting as they transformed two bench seats in the park into works of public art.
Filled with artistic talent and an eye for creativity, the students spent the morning stencilling their hands before transferring their likeness onto the benches and painting them in vibrant Baldivis hues. The final artistic flourish from each student was the inclusion of their name and classroom – ensuring they’d be able to visit their works for years to come.
Sheoak Grove Primary School Principal Craig Stanners said the school were thrilled to be involved in the community art endeavours by Mirvac.
“The students absolutely love visiting the Pump Park at One71 Baldivis, so having their hands and names painted here for them to see every time they play is fantastic,” said Stanners.
The One71 Baldivis project and landscaping teams were also on hand to prepare the canvasses and keep the young artists in line with everyone involved thrilled with the final result and artistic endeavours of the students.
